Training policies and procedures
Training Policies and Procedures
·        We train a minimum of 5 days per week, in most all weather, making
exceptions for extreme conditions. Saturday and Sunday visits or sessions are by
appointment only. We understand that many of our customers work during the week
and their only time to visit is on the weekend.  Our only request is that you call ahead
before coming on a Saturday or Sunday.
·        All visitors, sessions, drop-offs, and pick-ups are by appointment only and at
mutually convenient times as available. Due to the nature of our business, we do not
keep normal business hours. To combat this we have our cell phone with us at all
times with the option to leave a detailed message if we cannot get to the phone.
Unannounced or drop by visits of any kind are not allowed for the safety of our dogs
and our customers dogs.
·        We discourage visits early in training as this can disrupt the dog's adjustment
and progress. Social visits are encouraged after your dog has adjusted to the
surroundings.
·        We encourage you to check on your dog's progress. We can give a better
progress report on a monthly basis, but weekly calls are permitted. We also strongly
encourage owners to come, view their dog work, and learn about the training
process. It is very important for you to understand the lessons your dog is taught and
the commands he is being trained.
·        Dogs being shipped home must go C.O.D. or the shipping costs must be paid
in advance along with your training bill before shipment. Shipping dates are subject
to constraints by weather and our prior commitments.
·        All clients are required to complete a client dog information sheet as well as the
"Training Application".
·        Items required at time of drop-off or pick-up:
  •  Record of current vaccinations
  • Proof of current bordatella vaccination (within the last six months)
  • Provide heartworm prevention
  • Provide flea and tick prevention
  • Any required medication
  • Any requested dog food
  • The first month's payment for training is due at the time your dog is dropped
    off.
  • All remaining payments are due every month on the day your dog started in
training. Example: your dog started on July 25th, your first payment is to be
paid July 25th, then the next payment will be due on August 25th.
  • Payment for session training is due at the time of sign up
  • Woody's Sporting Dogs is not responsible for maintaining necessary vet
visits during training unless specified ahead of time.
