| Letters of Appreciation |
I found Shannon Wood and Woody’s Sporting Dogs through one of the
waterfowling websites that I visit frequently. After talking w/ Shannon over the
phone on several occasions and being invited out for one of his morning training
sessions with some of his other customer dogs, I decided that I’d like to have him
work with my dog Bailey.
Bailey is a 3 ½ year old yellow Labrador Retriever and has been hunting the last
two years with very minimal training and had picked up some undesirable traits,
(dropping birds, not coming right back...). I told Shannon that I'd like
him to work on these things and we agreed on what was a reasonable
expectation for a month’s worth of training.
Well I couldn't be happier. Bailey is doing a fantastic job on retrieving to hand
and comes right around to the heel position, sits, and holds the bird until I take it
from him. He's also developed a stronger desire to retrieve as well. We missed
our boy dearly while he was gone and Shannon was always available via phone
for progress reports.
If anyone is looking for a quality trainer that truly loves dogs and understands
what a waterfowler is looking for in a trained dog, I can without hesitation
recommend his services.
Shannon - Thanks again for all your hard work and time you put into Bailey. I
know it will prove valuable and make our hunts more enjoyable.

To Future Patrons of Woody’s Sporting Dogs,
My name is Bill Moyer Jr., I have purchased and English Springer Spaniel
(Bosco) from Shannon Wood of Woody’s Sporting Dogs four months ago. At
that time Bosco was 1year and 3 months old. He is an excellent hunting
companion and is a joy to be around. I am an avid waterfowl hunter and an
occasional upland hunter. Bosco performs excellent in the field and in the
marsh. He is now 1 year and 7 months and Bosco has had 80 plus flushes in
the field and several water retrieves in the duck marsh. We were at the end of
waterfowl season at the time of purchase, so I am looking forward to next duck
season with him. Shannon is a good guy and cares about his dogs and I must
have received a phone call from him everyday for the first 2 weeks as for he
was checking on Bosco. If something would happen to Bosco, I would not
hesitate to purchase another dog from Shannon.
